Immersion In Awe

"Silly is you in a natural state, and serious is something you have to do until you can get silly again."
- Mike Myers

That about wraps up my weekend at the coast!
Warning... TONS of pics.
It was sooooo amazing to leave the snow covered House of Cheese and head east.
The Pups and I headed out Friday to the coast...I needed a break from the snow and this is an annual trip for some of my girlfriends and I to unwind from the holiday season... I was ecstatic to leave this site behind me.

But I LOVED this site behind me! They got excited at the first sign of sunlight.

There was once again a slide on the main Highway I take to Yachats... so the detour took me on back roads to the beach. I hadn't been on some of these roads in years but through the peaks and valleys I tried to stay calm and deal with the snow and rain. I wish I would not have been driving as the sights were just beautiful and I didn't have much room on these roads to pull over without getting snarled in snow banks. Now that all the snow is melting in the higher elevations???--- I am sure hoping cows can swim.

I did stop at this boat launch to both relieve the pups and myself. Man oh man the water in the river sure has swallowed up most of the ramp.

When I hit the first coastal town of Florence we hit hail...still in the darned white stuff....
I love my "Sand between the toes" therapy days~ even when the weather does not co-operate.

It was SO DAZAM cool to see a bit of green again...
white was blinding me
The girls and I had alot of laughs and many naps while we waited out the downpours and hail storms. The pups and I did make it to the sand twice but mostly just enjoyed the female company and good eats. I am off the rest of the week and I hopefully will make it south to see my youngest Daughter... and spend some time with SF. It is long overdue! The twins turn 27 Friday but it is looking like boy twin will be out of town on business so I am not sure we will be able to celebrate that most excellent day all together.... sigh~~~~

Please just enjoy some of the moments that filled me with awe.

And filled me with awwwwwwwwwwwww !
[the cheesy toe shot...but notice~ Snowshoe got his in there too]

Mom?? has it stopped raining ...yet???

How about now??

Snugglin by the fire

Finally... outside time! Sorry pups~~ here comes the hail...again.....

I am afraid I dropped my camera this weekend and may have tweaked the sensor or something. I tried to take pics inside the "Sandbar" while having lunch with our former Monk and now favorite Man in blue Gawpo...But he had his- so hopefully he will post pics of all our screwball giggles and grins. [and hopefully I wiped the melted butter off my chin?] I almost couldn't find my most excellent clammery.. they have built up the lil' neighborhood it rests in! CRIPES!

[Thanks Gawpo for sending on this last pic!
Alas it is making my mouth water...geeze]

The ocean is lovely, wild and beautiful. And green! There is green somewhere in this frozen world?

I sure loved meeting you, Cheesenoodlebucket. And the kids look like they had a great time in the room. We shall contribute to the demise of more steamers again...oh yes, we shall again.

Great pics with the Canonical Picturer you got. I think I got the same seagull.

Hugs,
G

Thanks all! I kind of wish I could have stayed on a few days... it never seems long enough for my tastes.

Fab?? You like clams? I am sure all of us left coasters could meet and greet a few of those suckers!

Deb... yeeehaw damned right gurlie... green is GOOD!

NWO~~ Blushing.....wanna have an adventure?

G-man... It was a hoot wasn't it??
That was Gilbert down at the Landmark in Yachets! I guess he must be famous?

It's the little blowhole! I'd recognize it anywhere!

We were in a different door number, but same wood and red formica. And we had sunshine! Tee-hee. (Stormy weather was further up the coast where you suggested.)

More landslides for you? More snow? Yikes! (If I hit the lottery, I'm sending you to Hawaii!)

Hey -- make sure that Man gets a cupcake for his bday tomorrow, will you?

xo

Ocean......thank you for that.

I would also have escaped the snow and ice if I were in your position, only I would have gone further south.
Is that a blow hole in the second last sea picture. There is one near Cape St Francis that looks uncannily like this.

Amusing~~ Mission accomplished!

Pants.. My pleasure realy it was!

Max~~ Yep a small one just outside on the rocks from where we stayed. There are lots of them up and down the coast here.
