Friday, when I got home from a grueling day at work [I am finding being free from the casts and air boot exhausting] ~I was greeted by the sight of my homestead all mowed!
What a good boy BIL is! He made up to me a weeks worth of clingy-ness I have dealt with from him. I am sure it only felt that way due to the fact I have had next to no alone time in the last 3 months and I am SURE that is what I need right now. But I wanted to show my gratefulness by making him something yummy.
Snowshoe left his sign of approval too!
(look there in the lower corner! Lilacs are about to burst!!)
As you can maybe see from the photo up top Sno is dealing with a skin issue that is causing his back hair to fall out... not a huge woe but it is tied in with his thyroid issues so new meds have been prescribed and now instead of 2 pills a day he is up to 6. I had to stop and get treats that they would fit on....he is such a good boy at taking pills but this does help get 3 down at a time! Of course the plain one is for Annie.. heaven help me if she feels left out of a cookie break!
Now onto the luscious part of the post....
STRAWBERRIES!
I can not partake in them anymore but Shortcake is my brothers fav so I made some for him for after taco supper.
Little hearts all in a row.....
I sometimes wonder if the greens would be good in a salad? I don't think I will try this today~
Now span 14 hours... he was too full from supper for dessert..... doof had it for breakfast lol
I myself like homemade cakes but he adores the tasteless store bought sponge type.. and Cool-whip... Sorry it was almost a sin to assemble this....
Gawd I miss the sweet lusciousness of berries~~
I did stick my finger in the juice for a taste.... mmmmmmm

the homestead is looking good.
Poor pup. Mine drops hair when he is stressed and it makes him look like a pink oscar meyer.
Strawberry season here too. I've been buying buttloads.
