Well... the bits and pieces are now all here but-
so is the stormy wet, windy fucking weather.
It rained non-stop all night and the crews did show up and attempt to maneuver
the equipment to start placing said pieces.

It was a no-go. Houston we have a problem. Not only did the first cat get stuck.. it sunk part of the porch. So Tuesday they are coming back out with the big guns and possibly the big crane.
Good news is though that some of the kids decided to come watch! It was nice to have company part of the day and a crew to have biscuits and gravy with!
Cassidy liked having company too!

Yesterday the boss-man told me he had picked up coffee for the breakroom. Said he had left it in his office if we ran out. I was the first one in today and needed to fetch it and this is what I found.

I left him a note of thanks... and asked if it was shaved also...

He hasn't made it in yet today....

The last 7 days......

Well the electrical issues are finally getting taken care of. We have had to dig up and replace every stitch of wire on the property. Talk about a muddy mess! The last 4 days have been horrid but I think the last of the new wires will be buried by tomorrow?!?
This area is the biggest pain in the ass.... the walk area between the RV and the barn. Try as I may it is very tough to keep he puppies semi- clean. I see a grooming in their future.
The cat Cass keeps the workers on their toes with hourly inspections.
I was SO lucky to break away this past weekend and spend it with SF. It has been FOREVER since we have been afforded quality time. It was such a treat to break out our picture takers and walk through the autumn wonderland. Come enjoy some moments~~~

The way the ivy changed color as it turned the corner of this building caught my fancy.
And who says trailer trash can't eat uptown? My district manager and her husband went 'shrooming and she treated me to a bag of Chanterelles! I sauteed them up with garlic and olive oil then added chicken, penne pasta, and my famous pink Alfredo.... MMMMMMM

We were blessed with a MUCH better weather day for debris removal today. A bit warm and lovely sunshine. Thursday was soooo cold and wet and windy.

Of course final inspections were done the the furfaces....

How about a couple of pictures NOT related to construction? The pups have been SO well behaved I have been impressed with them!

Yes I cried.....

Tomorrow they scoop it up and take it away. I was amazed how fast it all went down and how careful the 2 man crew was to separate the metal for re-cycle. Way too many pictures were taken so I will just share this one.

Moving out and the Wrap up

Thursday was the official moving out day.
My couch was all on end about it

No more cool summer breezes across the bed dear...

My back will never be the same after ripping out carpeting.

I am not sure why but this view of the house after getting moved out made me burst into tears. My home is officially empty.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday were spent hauling off trash and the demo sale. Not very successful but some was taken. At least my kitchen cabinets found a good home. The wood stove is STILL sitting on the deck. Maybe, maybe it still has a chance.

Monday........
The abatement team showed up at about 8:30 AM and started taping. I spent most of the day worried sick that Squash [the tabby who THINKS he is a dog] was taped in under the house. He showed up at about 9:30 last night crying for food... idiot.
The pups are not very pleased with their new digs in the barn. Annie has commandeered the doghouse [even though it is big enough for both] and poor Snow has to cuddle with Cassity the cat.
Cass was supervising the whole show from his newly found perch. The guys had to keep shooing him out of the house. He knows no fear!
Tuesday morning.....
I needed one last look at the house early early this AM and a quiet place to chat SF up before he headed to work. Yes I know it says do not enter but I don't follow rules well anyhow.
Annie stood guard for me!

It was SO eerie to be in the house. No power and everything was ripped up and taped.
I will NOT miss paneling!
Or the crazy ass wallpaper that I had for the most part tried to paint over.
I wondered how many butts from the house of cheese had sat on that commode over the past 26 years......
The storage closet off the master closet... I will NOT miss that hole of terror.... sorry kids I tossed almost all you left behind... you had fair warning!

Goodbye my much loved kitchen.....
Goodbye the heat of my home.....

Even though I know it was way past time for me to replace her... I will miss the home I raised my family in.

Home Away from Home~

The RV showed up yesterday so I started to move the essentials of life down the hill. I am so blessed that my nephew runs an RV lot and made me such a deal. What he is charging me a month he normally gets for a week's rental.
Not the lovely deck and view I am used to but it IS covered lol

It will be close quarters for a month or two~ but I think in the end if the BIL and I don't kill each other it will be worth it. The pups and kittens on the other hand may run away from home. I am curious how they will handle not living inside with the pack. Still working on building them some kind of pen or room in the barn. They are SO going to hate me.

The view.... I can keep my eyes on the crews...Maybe I will luck out and be afforded eye candy??
Its going to be a long fall.... hopefully not a long winter!

Thursday is moving out day!

Monday the abatement and demo commence....

Today I emailed the kids with pics of treasures I unearth in the storage room.
ME: "Who's are these and do you want them?"

GIRL #1: "Pretty sure this is mine -- prob won't survive the shipping to NC. Feel free to send it to goodwill if you don't want it"
GIRL #2: "The jewelry chest is either mine or J's. I'd like to have it, if it's mine. J? Don't know about the cars - but if no one else wants to claim them, then I can give them to Dunc. Would the wee girls be into those?"
Son #2: "I know I had a few sets like that, but I never had enough patients to put them away. An intact set seems impossible if it was mine. I make no claim, if the Big D wants it, I'm cool. Jobe, did you have a set?"
Son #3: "Not even quite sure what that is? A race set? I don't think I had one like that."

And the reply that made my day....

Son#1: "Not to offend, but that is my jewelry chest. 2nd grade, cake walk, that's right. I won. It's mine, but alas- I do not want it. The cars are mine too. It is all mine. My butt hurts."

Today was a HUGE progress day in the "get the hell out of the house before I get plowed under" with it.
My sister, brother, cousin, niece and nephew all came to my aid this weekend to help pack and move boxes into the storage unit.
I went with an on site 40' sea cargo container and I'm thinking a 20'er would have done the job.. but better safe than sorry I suppose.
Sometime at the end of next week I will move the furniture out and move into an RV here. Life will get very interesting after that I am sure. Not only do my dogs have to learn how to live outside but my BIL and I will not have much private space. If we don't kill each other things should go smooth. He is already a bit tweaked at me for my timing in the "let's replace the house" as he is back in school and thinks this was a bad idea. I hope he soon forgives me as it is very tense on the home-front. A very complicated man I am afraid. I am trying to keep the peace and make sure his homework time is not infringed upon too much...
The saga goes on.

My timing sucks. Today I decide to walk downtown to grab a bite for lunch and treat myself to a good cup of Full Roast coffee. After getting some soup at the Noodle Bowl and my triple espresso.. I take 3 steps out the door onto a bulge in the sidewalk. While trying not to fall or fuck up my ankle I twisted my knee. Hurts like a sum-bitch and I am currently in bed with ice. Why!!!!!!!!!!! THIS weekend?
